Sheila is a Personal Trainer
at the Manitou pool, Aquatic & Fitness Center at Memorial
Park, Country Club of Colorado, and in homes, schools and
businesses. Her mission statement is"I will train anyone,
anywhere!"
She went to college at
Oklahoma Christian University and had to take one credit hour of
P.E. She signed up for floor aerobics. She left the
first class, called her parents, and told them "I know what I want
to do when I grow up." They just laughed because they thought
it would be something different next week. Well, it wasn't!
She came back home to Canon City, CO after my freshman year.
That summer Sheila went to Denver and got certified to teach
aerobics. Since that summer in 1992 Sheila has been teaching
group fitness classes. (She did graduate from OCU in 1995
with a BS degree.)
Since that time she has
worked at the Broadmoor Hotel, Country Club of Colorado, World's
Gym, Cheyenne Mountain High School, YMCA and has trained
individuals at school gyms or in their homes or at work (such as
with Penrose Hospital employees).
In 2007 she competed in two
Bodybuilding Competitions and got 1st place in the Southern
Colorado Natural Novice category.
Training certifications:
Group fitness, Personal Training, Women's Specialist Training, Aqua
Personal Training, Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard, CPR, First
Aid, and AED.
